Near Scheibe-Alsbach, 250 meters northwest of the Rennsteig, the Schwarza springs at an altitude of 717 m above sea level. The water of the Schwarza spring rises to the surface from a fissure between red sandstone and slate at a constant temperature of 6 degrees Celsius. It was enclosed in 1855.
