Sisi Monument Altenberg Bad Kissingen
Sisi Monument Altenberg Bad Kissingen
Bad Kissingen has a special relationship with the Austrian Empress "Sisi". As a regular spa guest in the late 19th century, she took daily walks up the 284 m high Altenberg and was rewarded with a magnificent view of the center of Bad Kissingen and the wooded hills of the surrounding area.
In 1907, a monument was erected to her just a few meters from the viewpoint. This created a beautiful, quiet resting place where you can take a deep breath after your climb up the Altenberg. The stone formation adorns a metal plaque with the portrait of the empress, thus immortalizing her at one of her favorite places in Bad Kissingen.
