Ski jumping hill Bischofsheim i.d.Rhön
The first ski jump on the Kreuzberg was built in the early 1930s and was replaced after the war, in the 1950s, by a ski jump that was ultra-modern for the time and also nationally recognized. Many competitions were held here over a long period of time. The first Bavarian Nordic Combined Championships in 1955, for example, followed by the second Bavarian championship in 1963.
In 1992, operations had to be discontinued due to technical defects in the ski jumps. The former facility fell into disrepair until the district of Rhön-Grabfeld replaced it with the current facility with the critical points at 16, 30 and 50 meters from its Sleeping Beauty existence. The inauguration ceremony took place on October 25, 1998.
Due to the fact that all ski jumps are now covered with mattings, the Ski jumping now all year round possible or has even become more difficult due to the uncertain snow conditions in recent years. more developed for summer sports. Every year in September, the Kloster-Kreuzberg Cup is contested, and the Bavarian pupils also regularly look for their best. Further information on ski jumping can be obtained from RWV Haselbach.
