The Sonnenstein near Holungen is definitely a fabulous vantage point. At an altitude of 486 meters, a unique panorama opens up: on a clear day, you can see from the Harz Mountains to the Kyffhäuser and Ohm Mountains all the way to the Golden Mark. Picturesque sunsets are guaranteed here on many evenings throughout the year.

The special Skywalk attraction has been here since 2017. The steel and glass construction towers 14 meters above the cliffs. The walkway promises thrills with a breathtaking view of nature. The viewpoint is connected to several hiking routes. A sail-shaped canopy with a seating area invites you to rest amidst the special flora and fauna. Various steles provide information about other sights in the region.

The peace cross, visible from afar, rises from the highest point of the plateau. It was erected in honour of the local poet and pastor Dr. Hermann Iseke, whose works include the famous Eichsfeld song.
