Summer pool Zeitz
Summer pool Zeitz
On July 1, 1928, the Zeitz summer pool opened its doors for the first time to the citizens and visitors of the city.
The 50-meter sports pool according to competition standards and the diving facility invite water sports enthusiasts to train and relax. Leisure guests also get their money's worth, whether in the adventure pool, on the giant slide or on the beach volleyball court. And of course, the youngest guests will not miss out thanks to the children's playground, elephant slide and paddling pool. The snack bar will provide enough food and drink. And those who want to relax after eating and swimming can choose their favorite spot on the 18,000 m² sunbathing lawn.
The summer pool is equipped barrier-free, so no one is excluded from summer bathing fun. The season of the summer pool runs from May 15 to August 31. The team of the Naether bath is looking forward to your visit.
History: The summer pool was first opened on 01 July 1928. The for that time highly modern outdoor pool with competition and non-swimmer pool, slide and ten-meter tower was built within one year according to plans of the Leipzig architect Platz and cost 250,000 Reichsmark. The summer pool was built within the park grounds of the Volksbad donated by Albin Naether, whose name the summer pool has borne since 2014. The summer bath remained essentially unchanged until 1997. After that, a thorough renovation of the facility took place and it was reopened on May 30, 1998. The diving towers now have a height of one and three meters respectively. The competition pool was also replaced by a stainless steel pool with six lanes and a length of 50 meters. In the adventure pool there are various attractions such as the giant slide, the current channel, whirl loungers and the floor bubbler. Since its renovation in 1998, the Zeitz summer pool has welcomed over 325,000 guests.
