St. Andrew's Church is the architectural center of the historically grown old town of Eisleben. The parish church in Eisleben's old town, first mentioned in 1180, was rebuilt in the 15th century. The superstructure of the towers with a double dome was built in 1714-23. The new building reflected the wealth of the citizens of Eisleben who had become prosperous through mining. Today's building is a late Gothic hall with a three-aisled choir and a double tower in the west.

The church's extensive furnishings date from the late Gothic and Renaissance periods. Martin Luther preached the last four sermons of his life from the pulpit.

Art-music-spirituality: this triad describes the aim of the extensive repair and restoration work made possible by ERDF cultural funding in the state of Saxony-Anhalt to improve the presentation and sustainable use of cultural heritage. The aim is to present the art and cultural assets in such a way that the spiritual and cultural values are accessible without barriers and can be experienced with all the senses in the open church, during themed tours, events and church services. Musical events, organ concerts and choir and orchestra concerts will be a major focus of cultural use.
