St. Anna Church Frohndorf
St. Anna Church Frohndorf
St. Anna's Church in the Sömmerda district of Frohndorf was first mentioned in a document in 1273. Today's church is the third building on the same site.
Baroque alterations were made in 1721. In 1976, major changes were made to the interior as part of the last major renovation.
The organ, which was installed in 1906 by the sons of Julius Strobel, is currently not in working order.
The extensions built in 1721, which were used to house the manorial chairs, were removed in the 1950/60s. The first floor of the northern extension, which was built as a crypt for the von Werthern family, was preserved. The last burial took place here in 1800.
The congregation of St. Anna Church is part of the Evangelical Church District of Eisleben-Sömmerda. Church services are held monthly.
