St. Erhard Church Pflanzwirbach
St. Erhard Church Pflanzwirbach
The church of St. Erhard in Pflanzwirbach is of Romanesque origin and was probably built in the 12th or 13th century. The church owes its name to Bishop Erhard, who worked in Regensburg around 700. The church is presumably named after this saint, who was more revered in southern Germany, because Ammelstädt belonged to the diocese of Würzburg in pre-Reformation times. The current interior of the church is as it was when it was rebuilt in 1658. The organ was rebuilt by Carl Lösche in 1885 and overhauled in 1995. The pews were rebuilt in 2004.
