In 1831, the Kleineutersdorf branch church was demolished and rebuilt as a single-nave church with a retracted choir tower. The exterior is stone-faced except for the plastered tower superstructure. The nave has high arched windows. Johann August Poppe from Jena built the organ in 1834, which was extensively renovated in 1988/89.

The church was furnished with a pulpit altar and a three-sided, two-storey gallery on the long sides. The second gallery and the pulpit altar were dismantled in 1859. Five carved figures from two late Gothic altar retables have been preserved. Two of them are the church's patron saints Peter and Paul.

A Madonna and Child of the Beautiful Madonna type, created around 1420, can be seen today in the Thuringian Museum in Eisenach.
