City Library "Dr. Konrad Duden" Schleiz
The library building could certainly tell many stories about life in Schleiz. It was originally built in 1838 as an administrative building and became the princely savings bank in 1842. It also housed various offices, such as the pension office, the tax office and the health department. It was used as a boarding school for the pupils of the grammar school and years later as a medical facility. In 2009, the conversion to a library finally began, which was inaugurated in 2011.
Today, the modern library has a wide range of media as well as internet and workstations. Free parking is available on site.
