Leutenberg town church
Leutenberg town church
The church was built between 1812 and 1815 after a town fire.[2] The rectangular hall church has the church tower in the west. The west-facing interior has two-storey galleries. It is spanned by a flat ceiling. The church furnishings include a simple pulpit altar from the time of construction. A carved figure, created around 1510/12, shows Christ at rest. It is attributed to Hans Gottwalt von Lohr from Saalfeld.
The organ with 25 stops, spread over 3 manuals and pedal, was built by Karl Friedrich Peternell in 1885, rebuilt by Oscar Ladegast in 1895 and restored by Schönefelder Orgelbau in 1980
