City Museum "High Lily
City Museum "High Lily
The house to the "Hohe Lilie" is one of the most remarkable burgher houses of the old town of Naumburg. The street-side tower (a so-called "Kemenate") was already built in the middle of the 13th century, two extensions probably date from the 15th century, a fourth extension dates from the Baroque period. This makes the "Hohe Lilie" one of the oldest inner-city museum buildings in Germany. The award-winning museum shows the traces of 750 years of use, supplemented by chapters of the city's history, which exemplify the development and existence of a bourgeois community as a sensual and intellectual experience.
