City museum in the bombing range
City museum in the bombing range
In the former Ducal Saxon Proof House in Zella-Mehlis, weapons were tested for their durability for almost 50 years. The striking industrial ensemble, built from 1893, was extensively renovated by 2002 and has since housed the town museum with a focus on the history of the town and technology.
This museum is not just an experience for die-hard technology and history fans. The whole family is interactively involved - on a rally with the museum mascot "Burni".
The museum is audited by "Travel for all" and therefore carries the specification barrier-free.
The museum will be closed on four days:
New Year's Day, Ascension Day, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
