City museum „Klötznersches Haus“
City museum „Klötznersches Haus“
The Klötzner House has been home to the city museum since 1992. The building is named after its last private owner, Karl Friedrich Klötzner. The building was first mentioned in a document in 1555 and the cellars date back to the 13th century. The museum displays interesting facts about the history of the house, the history of Eisenberg's industry and old evidence of the Duchies of Saxe-Eisenberg and Saxe-Altenburg. Special features include the „black kitchen“ with its medieval furnishings and the 14-metre-deep shaft in the vaulted cellar. Guided tours of the town starting at the town museum are available by prior arrangement.
