Metzner House„ City Museum“
The Metznersches Haus museum building was built around 1600, making it one of the oldest houses in Kahla. Untypical for the area, but nevertheless very striking and beautiful, is the half-timbering with fan rosettes. The museum developed in 1978 from a traditional cabinet of the porcelain factory to an exhibit exhibition of the cultural association to a museum of local history. Closure was unavoidable in 2000 due to dilapidation. After extensive construction and renovation work, the new town museum was opened to the public in April 2006 - a beautiful building where old and new harmonize with each other. With a lovingly and tastefully furnished exhibition of collections and exhibits, it has become a gem for the town of Kahla.
