Bischofsheim town tower
Bischofsheim town tower
The town tower, also known as the "tithe tower", is the landmark of Bischofsheim. It was probably built in the 13th century as the west tower of an earlier late Romanesque church and was probably the home of the tower keeper, who watched over the safety of the town from around 1586.
At a height of 26 m, it towers over the old town and offers beautiful views of the Rhön, especially the Kreuzberg. The key to climb the tower can be borrowed free of charge from the tourist information office during opening hours against a deposit.
