With around 90 inhabitants, Stödten is the smallest district of Sömmerda. Stödten was an independent municipality until it was incorporated into the municipality of Leubingen in 1965.

On the road between Leubingen and Stödten rises a mighty burial mound - the Leubinger Fürstenhügel. This is an important monument from the early Bronze Age - the largest preserved princely tomb in Central Europe from this period. Excavations on the Leubing Mound brought to light a burial chamber with valuable finds. Together with the Nebra Sky Disk, the Leubingen barrow is one of the most important Bronze Age artefacts in the Unstrut region.

The gas station and rest area of the same name on the 71 freeway, which is currently under construction near the Fürstenhügel in Leubing, is connected to the regional network of paths via a footpath to the Fürstenhügel and thus becomes a window into the region, which is rich in cultural monuments.
