Struwwelpeter Park
Struwwelpeter Park
Fairy tale in the Lauchagrund
The fairytale meadow in the Lauchagrund invites you on a journey back to childhood days, where you can admire the Struwwelpeter figures from Heinrich Hoffmann's book of the same name. The doctor from Frankfurt enjoyed our beautiful surroundings and spent many years with his family on summer retreats in Tabarz. So what could be more natural than to erect a worthy monument to him? Made of oak wood and colorfully painted, the hare now shoots at the hunter, Paulinchen plays with the lighter and the dog bites the evil Friederich. As every child in the world knows Struwwelpeter, the fairytale festival, which is famous beyond Thuringia's borders, is held every year in July or August. A colorful program with games, handicrafts, demonstrations, a raffle and, of course, delicious food awaits all guests young and old. The Märchenwiese is a stop along the 300 km long German Toy Route.
