Templar Chapel
Templar Chapel
The Gothic chapel was part of a commandery of the Knights Templar. It was built at the end of the 13th century. The building consists of a porphyry intrados with sandstone imposts. Inside, the visitor discovers filigree brackets and keystones with floral motifs. The building survived the centuries after the Reformation as a barn. At the beginning of the 90s, a careful renovation began. The modern windows by glass designer Günter Grohs impress with their light painting.
Today, the chapel is a cultural treasure as a concert venue, a place for wedding ceremonies, and a church for bikers. During a guided tour or an adventure tour, the visitor learns many interesting facts about the Templars and their chapel.
