Thuringian Pharmacy Museum in "Haus Rosenthal"
The Thuringian Pharmacy Museum in "Haus Rosenthal" has been open since May 18, 2014. In one of the oldest half-timbered houses in the city, an exhibition on the history of pharmacy from the 18th to 20th century is presented on an area of 276 m².
On display are valuable standing vessels made of glass, porcelain and wood, pharmaceutical tools, mortars and scales. Visitors can discover the various work areas of an old pharmacy in eight rooms. The pharmacy museum also includes the adjoining pharmacy garden, in which more than 80 different medicinal herbs grow. Visitors can also experience the restored listed building "Haus Rosenthal" from 1515 up close. The historic wall paneling and the wooden parlor are particularly impressive. The town of Bad Langensalza received recognition for the successful restoration in the competition for the "Thuringian Timber Construction Prize 2013" and the "Thuringian Monument Protection Prize" in 2015.
