Thuringian Open-Air Museum Hohenfelden - Old vicarage
Thuringian Open-Air Museum Hohenfelden - Old vicarage
Contemporary witnesses
The open-air museum is a place where evidence of past living environments is preserved, researched and presented. In contrast to other folklore and cultural history museums, this takes place in an authentic, lively and historical environment. The historical buildings are the most important exhibits.
The listed village
The Thuringian Open-Air Museum has two locations: on the main site of the museum, the „Am Eichenberg“ museum grounds, historical rural buildings from various Thuringian villages have been and continue to be relocated. In the listed village of Hohenfelden, historic buildings such as the school, the brewery, the day laborer's house and the former rectory have been preserved in their original locations.
