Thuringian Museum Eisenach: Tea room in the Kartausgarten
In the picturesque Kartausgarten in the south of Eisenach, the tea room in the classicist gardener's house has opened its doors. On display here are French wallpaper paintings with motifs from the ancient story of Cupid and Psyche. The two Frenchmen Lafitte and Blondel are considered to be the originators of the neoclassical wallpapers, which were first hand-printed in a Parisian workshop in 1816. After visiting the tea room, you can take a stroll through the gardens once laid out by the Carthusian monks as a monastery garden.
