The animal enclosure is located in the castle park of Bad Köstritz.

The outdoor enclosure with fallow deer, mouflons, African dwarf goats and peacocks was created in 1965 and is still very popular with young and old today. The freely accessible animal enclosure is located in Köstritz Park, the former castle park. The original English-style landscape park, laid out in 1804 and covering over 100 hectares at the time, is home to the restored neoclassical 'White Lady' Temple of the Muses and several smaller monuments.
