It is a forest site (parcel of land) on the northern edge of the Hainich National Park. It was probably given this name because a light-colored round stone resembling a skull stands next to a boundary stone. The stone can be found from Eigenrieden at kilometer 16.3 and from Behringen at kilometer 15.0.
