You enter the only developed stalactite cave in Thuringia via a former mine. This unique underground world was opened to visitors as early as 1896. A guided tour takes you down to a depth of 48 meters. Along the way, you can admire millennia-old stalagmites and stalactites, such as the 3.5 m high pyramid in the large grotto. In the "Drei Gleichen" area, you can marvel at massive, coarse crystalline sinter surfaces as well as the bizarre-looking excentriques, rare and irregularly growing sinter formations.
