UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Thuringian Forest

Vesser is located in the middle of the UNESCO Thuringian Forest Biosphere Reserve. Thanks to its charming location in a valley surrounded by wooded mountains and meadows, Vesser is a popular vacation destination for nature lovers, hikers and guests. The landscape around Vesser is criss-crossed with marked hiking trails, which are converted into ski trails and cross-country ski tracks in winter. In addition to the nature trail around Vesser, there is also a senior and disabled-friendly nature trail. Vesser has been a district of the town of Suhl since 2019.
