Viernau is the southernmost district of Steinbach-Hallenberg, surrounded by gentle mountains, forests, meadows and fields.
Viernau is known far beyond the borders of the Hasel Valley as a carnival stronghold. Numerous events take place every year during the carnival season, as well as a large parade on Shrove Sunday and Rose Monday.
