Ilfeld forest pool
Ilfeld forest pool
Surrounded by mountains and forests in an idyllic location, the Ilfelder Waldbad has been in existence since 1927. The water is heated in an environmentally friendly way with the help of a solar system.
The baths are easily accessible from the B4, from the „Ilfelder Tal“ HSB service stop and from Netzkater station. There is also a wonderful hiking trail for cyclists and pedestrians from the Schanzenbrücke starting point along the Harz narrow-gauge railroad to the Waldbad.
The centerpiece is a 50-meter by 18.50-meter pool for swimmers and an adjacent smaller pool for non-swimmers with a slide. For toddlers and babies, there is a paddling pool with an awning that offers young bathers sufficient protection from too much sunlight.
On land, there is a volleyball court, a basketball court and table tennis courts. Sun worshippers will get their money's worth on the large sunbathing lawn.
Modern sanitary facilities and changing rooms round off the offer. A kiosk invites hungry and thirsty bathers to linger. Motorized visitors can park on site.
