For over 100 years, the Wechmarer Hütte has been the popular hiking and excursion destination on the sun terrace via Georgenthal.

Located approx. 2 km outside the village in the middle of the forest Rustic coziness with around 80 seats in the "Hütten-Stuben". The from 11-17 o'clock Hot meals throughout the day delights the excursionists with homemade specialties, hearty Thuringian dishes, as well as homemade cake.

Particularly attractive is the generous "Forest beer garden"which offers shady and sunny seating for up to 100 guests under a canopy of green foliage.

By the way: Many easy hiking trails lead to the Wechmarer Hütte and access by car is possible from Georgenthal.
