It was built in the 14th century as a moated castle and later converted into a palace. It is the Birthplace of Johann Georg von Langen, the founder of modern forestry. The castle is now privately owned and can only be visited from the outside. However, it is now also used as a Location for lectures and smaller events used. Highly recommended is the Castle Christmas for the 3rd Advent. The castle is located on the state road 2633 between Grub and Marisfeld and is a popular destination for hikers and cyclists.
