Anyone visiting Siegmundsburg should plan a detour to the Hintere Werraquelle. The Werra has two spring branches, one near Fehrenbach and the other near Siegmundsburg. The latter was first mentioned in a document in 1492. The spring in Fehrenbach was inaugurated on 14.08.1898 and the one in Siegmundsburg on 21.08.1910.
