Weymouth pine Behringen
Weymouth pine Behringen
From 1743 to 1792, Ernst Wilhelm von Wangenheim lived in Behringen Castle and had the large castle park laid out. The Weymouth pine, which is now around 250 years old, is Behringen's landmark and the centerpiece of the castle and sculpture park. The crown branch on the tree, which had been broken off due to circumstances, was replaced by a whole series of secondary branches, which rose upwards and explain the special shape of the conifer.
