Frauenwald is a true winter wonderland: guaranteed snow and a wide range of offers: around 30 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails and ski hiking trails as well as skiing and tobogganing fun. Of course, guided ski tours are also possible here, whether traditionally with cross-country skiers or like the Eskimos with Alaskan snowshoes. And suddenly the Thuringian Forest is in the middle of Alaska: every year for Europe's largest international sled dog race. Every February, the mushers guide a good 150 teams through Frauenwald.
