The Wisentatalbahn runs on the Schönberg (Vogtl.) - Schleiz branch line and has connected Saxony and Thuringia since 1887. In December 2006, Vogtlandbahn GmbH ceased operations on the line. The Förderverein Wisentatalbahn e.V. and the Deutsche Regionaleisenbahn were able to gradually reactivate the line from 2009. A connection to Saalburg was realized through a cooperation with Kombus GmbH. Since December 2011, traffic has been running under the motto: "From the Thuringian Sea to the Vogtland mill district"

All passenger trains running on the Schönberg (Vogtl.) - Schleiz West railroad line on our travel days are public and can be used by anyone with a ticket.

We can organize special trips for travel groups if ordered in writing in good time.

Discounts:

Children up to the age of 6 travel free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Children up to the age of 14 pay half the fare.

There is no price compensation for passengers with reduced mobility. Our train staff will be happy to assist you at any time - even when boarding and alighting.

Group tickets, tickets of other railroads and tickets of tariff associations are not valid on the Wisentatalbahn. They also do not entitle the holder to a discount.

Transportation of animals, bicycles and luggage (load capacity):

Animals carried on board are transported against the purchase of an animal ticket.

The transportation of bicycles and bulky items of luggage (loads) is possible on purchase of a bicycle ticket or luggage ticket for each direction of travel, subject to the space available. In case of doubt, the train crew will decide. Luggage, baby carriages for accompanying children, wheelchairs, walking frames and other aids are carried free of charge.

Damage and soiling:

Passengers are liable for their animals and for the luggage they are carrying.
Anyone who damages railroad facilities or railroad vehicles must pay for the damage caused. Anyone who soils them pays a cleaning fee of €10.
