Johannes Itten and László Moholy-Nagy apartment
Johannes Itten and László Moholy-Nagy apartment
Johannes Itten, who is considered one of the most influential personalities of the early Bauhaus era, lived in the villa at what was then Wilhelms-Allee 2. As a supporter of the Mazdaznan doctrine, he had gathered a circle of students around him, which caused Gropius to resist. After his departure, László Moholy-Nagy not only succeeded him, but also took over the apartment in the private villa. The house is not open to the public, but a memorial plaque in the driveway commemorates the two Bauhaus masters.
