In the seclusion of the forest lies the Ten-pond hut, near the Suhl district of Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig. It offers hikers a quiet place to catch their breath in a tree-lined location or simply to enjoy the fresh forest air. The ponds here were Formerly known as ore washing are used today as Trout breeding tank and give this beautiful spot a special charm. Fishing is not permitted, however, as the waters are privately owned and are checked several times a day.
