The central square of the Ebersdorf Brethren community settlement is the "Gemeinplatz" or simply the "Platz". Today it is called Zinzendorfplatz - after the founder of the Moravian Church, Nikolaus Ludwig Graf von Zinzendorf (1700-1760).
The "square" was laid out in 1762. Some of the older small village houses located there were demolished, the area was divided into regular squares and planted with beech and lime trees.
In the middle of the square, the well provided vital water, which was initially fed into the village through wooden pipes from the moorland ponds around 2 km away.
Later, various arbors and cottages were built on the square, including a reading hall, which was used by guests of the "Sommerfrische Ebersdorf-Reuß" from 1880.
