Renewal and expansion of tourist information signage along the Unstrut cycle path

The Unstrut Cycle Route accompanies the Unstrut on its approx. 190 km long route from its source in Eichsfeld through the Thuringian heartland, the Kyffhäuser region and southern Saxony-Anhalt to its mouth in the Saale near Naumburg. Special attractions along the Unstrut Cycle Route include the towns of Mühlhausen and Bad Langensalza with their historic town fortifications and parks, the Unstrut Valley nature reserve near Nägelstedt, the Thuringian Gate, Heldrungen moated castle, the Wiehe model railroad, the Nebra Ark Adventure Center in Wangen and the site where the Sky Disc was found, the Saale-Unstrut Wine Route, Neuenburg Castle and the Rotkäppchen sparkling wine cellars in Freyburg and the cathedral town of Naumburg.

In the years 2017 - 2022, numerous measures such as the development of a corporate design, the creation of a website and its search engine optimization, the shooting of an image film and various short clips, a photo shoot, social media presence, two articles in the magazine "Tambiente" with a 12-month online presence, two blogger trips, a press trip, postcards and pens as well as stickers were implemented as part of the cooperation project "Inwertsetzung Unstrutradweg". Furthermore, a brochure was completely redesigned, revised and published and a digital experience was created along the cycle path with the listening points.

In order to maintain and expand the attractiveness and quality of the "Unstrut Cycle Route" experience for both locals and visitors, a comprehensive renewal, standardization and partial expansion of the tourist information signage is required.

Thanks to LEADER funding, the Unstrutradweg e.V. is renewing and extending information boards along the cycle path. 41 boards will be erected between the source and mouth of the river.
