Carl Loewe Museum
Carl Loewe Museum
The International Carl Loewe Society, founded in 1992, sees itself as a coordinating center for worldwide Carl Loewe research and heritage preservation through the promotion of concert life and further development into a central point of documentation on the composer's life and work, as well as the promotion of scholarly publications including biographical research.
With the offers in the Carl Loewe Museum, the versatility of Carl Loewe, his integration in the course of history of the first half of the 19th century and the music romanticism is presented in a tangible way, but also it is shown that Carl Loewe is inseparably connected with the cultural and musical history of Saxony-Anhalt and that his heritage is of high cultural-political importance especially for Saxony-Anhalt besides the cultivation of baroque music. As a musician's museum, the focus is on experiencing Loewe's music. Listening stations with selected pieces of music allow visitors to approach Loewe's compositions individually, from ballads to oratorios and instrumental works.
A visit to the Carl Loewe Museum is worthwhile not only for music experts. Interesting insights into the life of the composer Carl Loewe, born in Löbejün, as well as listening to his compositions , performed by the most famous singers since 1905, but also current exhibitions on the charisma of Loewe's music to modern times offer something new and interesting for all groups of visitors.
