Former Dominican monastery church "Peter and Paul"
Former Dominican monastery church "Peter and Paul"
Opposite the All Saints' Church, construction began in 1289 on the Dominican Church, which was one of the largest churches in Mühlhausen alongside the Marienkirche and the Divi-Blasii-Kirche. Consecrated in 1348, the Peter and Paul Church was a three-aisled hall church 11 bays long. After the abolition of the monastery in 1542, demolition of the monastery complex began in 1583. After a fire in the church in 1689, it was also gradually demolished apart from a few surviving remains. These remains of the walls can still be seen today on the lower Steinweg.
