Hohenwartestausee
Hohenwartestausee
The Hohenwartestausee is part of the "Saalekaskade", the largest contiguous reservoir area in Europe. Here, the Saale forms the so-called Thuringian Sea over a length of almost 80 km and is dammed five times.
The reservoir itself is 27 km long and holds 182 million cubic meters of water, making it the third largest reservoir in Germany.
