La Tarte Bistrot français
La Tarte Bistrot français
Until the 1950s, bread was baked in the rooms of La Tarte and cakes and pastries in particular were created, which enjoyed great popularity in Weimar.
Master confectioner Wolfgang Skyrde and his wife had a large clientele. In summer, home-made ice cream delighted young and old alike. As part of the "Rose" campaign, the patisserie and adjoining café were nationalized and transferred to the HO. Skyrdes then went to the West, but got their property back after reunification. After extensive refurbishment, the café and patisserie became a restaurant, which has been run by Elizabeth Leroy-Maass as the French restaurant "La Tarte" since 2012.
Enjoy here - as in the golden and silver age of Weimar, when French was spoken and François René Le Goullon as Anna Amalia's chef set the standards for Weimar's culinary culture - the breath of a cosmopolitan, European spirit and at the same time a little of the French way of life of the present.
In summer, a Mediterranean courtyard garden invites you to do so, and all year round there are themed evenings where you can sit at long tables with other guests and get to know and enjoy culinary delicacies from French regions.
