Athletics hall - Hartwig-Gauder-Halle
The Hartwig-Gauder-Halle is located in the south of Erfurt, not far from the B4 federal highway (feeder road to the A4 freeway, Erfurt-West junction) and is part of the Erfurt-Süd sports center. There are other sports facilities in the immediate vicinity (multifunctional arena, ice sports center, Thüringenhalle and the Roland-Matthes swimming hall) as well as the Thuringian state parliament and the Südpark.
The hall has a floor area of approx. 9,200 m². The maximum hall length is 135 meters, the maximum hall width is 77 meters and the usable indoor sports area is approx. 5,700 m². In addition to a 200 m running track with 4 synthetic running lanes, a 130 m sprint track with 6 lanes and a 60 m sprint track with 6 lanes, athletes have access to competition facilities for long jump/triple jump, high jump, pole vault and shot put as well as training facilities for javelin and discus throwing.
The hall also has 2 weight rooms, 4 changing rooms for athletes, a medical area with sauna and underwater massage as well as additional rooms for staff and judges.
A grandstand with 950 seats for spectators is installed on the west side. A further 820 seats can be provided by an existing mobile grandstand.
