Restaurant "Güldene Gans"
Restaurant "Güldene Gans"
Passionate and fresh cuisine is celebrated here. In the dignified ambience of a historic building or in the pleasure garden, you can feast to your heart's content. With annual awards, e.g. from Michelin - Bib Gourmand and 2 Bestecke - you can guess what high-quality products await guests here. The foundation walls of the historic building and today's Hotel Anker, where the "Güldene Gans" is located, date back to 1543. In 1547, Elector Johann Friedrich I was held prisoner here at the behest of Emperor Charles V after the Battle of Mühlberg. The Emperor had imposed the imperial ban on the prisoner, a leader of the Schmalkaldic League, a year earlier - Reformation up close.
