Camburg Town Museum
Camburg Town Museum
The Camburg Town Museum presents the history of the town from the Stone Age to the present day on two floors. Special emphasis is placed on the region's craft tradition and industrial history. The exhibits range from the Middle Ages to the last century. Among other things, you can marvel at a complete wheelwright's workshop, a cooper's workshop, a shoemaker's workshop, a bookbinder's workshop, a complete chemist's shop, old prison rooms and many other exhibits. Another highlight is the working polyphon from the 1890s. Various events and special exhibitions are held here at regular intervals.
A historically furnished café is available as an event room. Groups can come together here to take part in educational museum activities, for example.
The Camburg Town Museum also has a diverse collection of historical and current literature and sources. The focus is on town and regional history, museum topics, folklore and cultural history. Working with the books is only possible on request and on site.
