Vogtlandhalle Greiz
Vogtlandhalle Greiz
The Vogtlandhalle is a venue for a wide variety of cultural and social events, offers seminar and conference facilities as well as culinary delights in the "Reihe 1" restaurant.
Greizer Neustadt was created as a planned district during the economic boom at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. The representative Gründerzeit villas of the Greizer textile manufacturers along Carolinenstraße, the post office (1886-1887) and the railroad station building (1875), today's Ulf-Merbold-Gymnasium (1882-1884; in the area of Post- and Heinrich-Fritz-Straße) as well as the justice building (1912) on Neustadtring were built.
An imposing glass façade welcomes visitors to the Vogtlandhalle Greiz (2008-2011), which was ceremoniously opened in March 2011 as the first new building for the Theater der Stadt Greiz.
The Vogtlandhalle is characterized by its multifunctional character: the centerpiece is the Great Hall with its 500 seats, which can be expanded to 800 seats if required. Thanks to technical refinements such as an elevator tribune and lifting platforms, the hall can be modified so that it can be used for shows, musicals and theater performances with ascending rows of seats as well as for conferences, balls and dance events at ground level. The Great Hall offers absolute listening pleasure, turning every event into an experience.
The successful symbiosis of architecture and state-of-the-art sound technology creates impressive worlds of sound.
The artistic highlight is the wall design in the foyer, where you can admire the original and imaginative paintings by artist Hendrik Schrat. Using silhouettes, he has taken up legendary motifs from the Vogtland region and brought them to life in a witty and thoughtful way.
