Matthias Hey graduated with honors from the renowned Geisenheim University of Viticulture in 2008.
The parents Reinhard and Sigrun Hey laid the foundation for today's winery in 2001 with the purchase of a small parcel of land in the "Naumburger Steinmeister" site. Son Matthias Hey finally returned to tranquil Naumburg in 2008 after studying viticulture at Geisenheim University and in Friuli. The Hey family now farms a total of 6.5 hectares of vines, exclusively on steep slopes. When you visit the Heys in their winery, you can feel and taste the great enthusiasm with which wine is made here. On weekends from May to October, wine lovers can also enjoy small meals in the cozy Straußwirtschaft with a view of the vineyard.

Since 2018, the Hey winery has been a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates).

In addition to wine, culture and culinary delights are also very important. Therefore, throughout the year, the winery hosts music evenings ranging from jazz to classical to folk, readings, summer theater and culinary wine evenings.
